What Doug Does:

It’s usually a minor health crisis that alerts you to the reality that you’ll need to work at it to maintain your autonomy.

It sounds scary, but the sooner you recognize it, the earlier you can get a plan that protects what you value and keeps you in control of your life.

“I Help Baby Boomers Maintain Their Autonomy.”

“I Help Boomers’ Stressed Kids Stay on Top of Their Parents’ Health Stuff.”

Who Doug Works With

“I work with Boomers who want to stay in their homes and stay in charge of their lives,” Doug Says.  “But my clients also have a support system.”  What Doug’s clients and their families need is sophisticated help that puts their goals at the center of continuing efforts to keep them in the driver’s seat of their lives.

Who Doug Doesn’t

If you don’t agree that it takes deliberate effort to maintain maximal autonomy, then Boomer Autonomy Services aren’t a fit at this time. Not everyone needs to focus on autonomy to keep it.

If someone already has advanced dementia, has severe mental health diagnoses, or needs an organ transplant, they aren’t a fit for the service.

If someone completely lacks social or family support, this service cannot replace a family’s care or medical care.  It coordinates care to improve results.

The Medical MacGyver

CNN, PEOPLE Magazine, the BBC, the Guardian, Dr. Oz, David Pogue’s Unsung Science, Forbes, Fast Company and others have featured Doug’s personal story of illness, innovation and recovery, as well as his work helping others with complex chronic conditions.

Why Work with Doug?

Once maintaining autonomy becomes a recognized goal, it’s likely to stay on the “to do” list permanently.

Doug helps Baby Boomers maintain their autonomy and helps Boomers’ kids tackle any of their parents’ health issues that land on their plate.

Doug’s service is not designed to replace a family’s care or medical care.  It coordinates care to improve results.

“If something touches the client’s health, I pay attention to it,” Doug says. “I become deeply informed about your condition so that there is someone fully on your side who understands what the doctors are saying about your health. Then, I help you and your family understand it to the depth that you decide works for you.”
